Spring update: Seed balls
Blosooms everywhere
Last autumn I scattered a bunch of seed balls containing mustard seeds, spinach, alfalfa, white clover and a mix of some flowers. And I am very happy to announce that it works, of course! and our garden is so beautiful full of flowers everywhere and all these plants are not only beautiful, but medicinal.
These are just a few pictures of some species from our garden. Some we planted in the past, others are indigenous and we celebrate them.
It’s funny last year the California Poppy appears in our garden along with the Marigold (these we didn’t plant) so we let them grow because they were blooming all autumn and we enjoyed them very much. Then I realize what they are and I wanted to dry them to consume them and use their medicinal properties but it was too late in the season.
So this year I didn’t expect to see more of them after the cold winter but here they are successfully re-sprouting and not only did they grow but also the flowers of the seed balls and all the Mustard and Sunflower plants I planted in Autumn/early Spring.
I am still recording all the species. The more you stop to observe, to admire nature, the more species appear.
